Purfleet chalk and the Big Draw

A few minutes from High House Production Park, amid industrial depots and stone showrooms I came across the remaining cliffs of the former plethora of chalk quarrying pits in the area. This discovery prompted the transformation of my new white cube studio into a black box ready to be mapped and marked as I draw the local area I discover with this local material. Over time this becomes a site specific image of a place and a practical mapping of local knowledge, history, landscape and locations for the plans afoot.  The studio will be open to the public as part of The Big Draw on 22nd October and i hope visitors will be able to add to this.
