It was to visit the Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre. Located in an old gunpowder magazine. It is packed with written history, atmosphere and objects from the Purfleet gunners, fallen zeppelins to a sneaky appearance by Dracula. I mistook the cafe for a period piece and look forward to going back for a cup of tea and chat with local experts there in my quest to find out all possible about 'The Acts of God Committee', gunpowder and ww2 history in the area. As local historian Alan Gosling said 'The history of Purfleet is explosive,'
